Understanding the Materials and what you would prefer for Lifespan and Textures under your feet is incredibly important.

Carpet Flooring

  • This is solely, a brief overview of the Types of Carpet and the Key Features to keep in mind when dreaming of Carpet for your spaces

  • Types of Carpet:

    • Frieze-Cut Pile

    • Textured Cut

    • Plush Pile

    • Saxony Cut

    • Cut Pile

    • Loop Pile

    • Wool

    • Acrylic

    • Polyester

    • Polypropylene (Olefin)

    • Nylon


  • Key Features to Keep in Mind:

    • If you have allergies, Carpet may not be the best option

    • Harder to clean than Tile, Wood, and Vinyl, depending on the Pile Depth/Thickness

    • Carpet Tiles make great area rugs

    • Carpet can be a cost-effective option, in the right circumstances

    • Understanding heat transfer, in-floor heat may not be a good idea with Carpet [area rugs area different/separate] please follow the Manufacturers Specification

Engineered and Solid Hardwood Flooring

  • Engineered Hardwood or Solid Hardwood:

    • There are a few shared deciding factors:

      • Species [Hardness]

      • Cut

        • These Ultimately will depend on the amount and type of Grain Patterns and Wood Character you wish to include in your Flooring

        • Mill Run/Rift

        • Standard

        • Select

        • Premium

      • Finishing Tones

        • This will depend on the species Organic or Natural Tones and your desired finished product

      • Finishing Techniques

        • Hand scraped

        • Wirebrushed

        • Character

      • Flooring Finish

        • Matte

          • Matte will have a Less Reflective Finish

          • Matte Finish is less slippery than high gloss surfaces

          • Depending on the tone can help with a timeless aesthetic

        • Satin

          • Satin has more Light and Sunlight Reflection than Matte

          • Satin Finish is


  • Specific to Engineered Hardwood

    • Engineered Hardwood has fewer re-finishing possibilities [times] than Solid Hardwood [depending on the Brand or Supplier]

  • Specific to Solid Hardwood

    • Solid Hardwood can be refinished more times than Engineered [depending on the Brand or Supplier]

Laminate Flooring

Tile Flooring

        • This process of Glazing or Finishing can be done before or after grouting depending on the desired Visual Effect

    • Porcelain Tile [or Slabs]

      • Offered in Rectfied or Non-Rectified

      • With a variety of options with different ratings for Application or Use

Vinyl Flooring

  • Vinyl is Normally Plank [is available in a variety of Widths and Lengths], however, it is also available in Tile for [Composite Tile, see above]

  • Vinyl Flooring can be Glue Down or Click, Both Installation Types have their benefits

  • Glue Down Installation

    • Perimeter or Full Glue Down

  • Click Installation

    • Locking System

  • However, the finishing components available by the Supplier are important, Floor Transitions, Stair Nosings, and any other pieces that you may want to match on the Floor are good to consider when selecting your Flooring Type [not just vinyl, Hardwood, Laminate, etc.]
